The opening matches ended in a draw

The Tipsport Malta Cup started a duel of the favored teams and a draw was born in windy weather. At the Ta Qali National Stadium, Liberec started better in goal when team captain and former Werder Bremen player Theo Gebre Selassie scored. After the change of sides, however, the club from the Austrian city of Wattens deservedly leveled the match at 1: 1. In a similar spirit, the second duel of Trnava and Zlín was carried out, the shooters of both teams were able to score once despite the number of chances and it was the second draw 1: 1.
