Trnava failed against Austria and the Czech Maltese derby ended in a draw

The Tipsport Malta Cup had two more matches on the schedule. Trnava needed points against Austria to keep the opportunity to fight for a good position and improve their confidence from the opening loss against Olomouc. The Slovaks twice equalized the Austrian club's lead, but eventually lost the draw in the 90th minute.

The Czech tournament derby between Olomouc and Hradec looked pretty straightforward at the beginning of the match. Olomouc combined well, outplayed the opponents, especially in the middle of the field, and teammates at least twice found a clear chance in front of the goal of the Olomouc gunner Juliš, who on Saturday afternoon chose a shooting siesta and fired the balls over the goal somewhere in the direction of Sicily. As is well known, this is not a good strategy in football and this hesitation was punished for Hradec by the skilful youngster Hais. He was dangerous for the opponent at the top of the line for the whole half, which he finally confirmed with the leading goal in the 36th minute.

Olomouc did not take the lead again until after half-time, when a new eleven got on the pitch. In the 49th minute, Jan Fortelný equalized and it seemed that the Hanáci would overcome their opponents. However, they only showed technical scurrying around the box without a proper chance. Votroci from Hradec gradually found out that quick counters after Olomouc losses can bring them victory and Sigma Olomouc really had only a piece of luck in the last 10 minutes (Hradec Králové bad luck) that did not lose.

The winner of their duel will certainly be the winner of the tournament. If they only draw and Hradec beats Trnava, the three clubs will have 5 points each, in the matches between them draws and the score will be decisive.
