The winner of the international tournament Tipsport Malta Cup 2021 was the WSG football players Swarovski Tirol Wattens, who defeated Sigmu Olomouc 5:4 in the final, which ended in the basic playing time of 1:1. Zbrojovka Brno took third place after a close 1-0 win over Spartak Trnava.

Tipsport Malta Cup was the only winter tournament in Europe
The week in Malta was specific and maybe none of the players will experience anything like it again. Testing 72 hours before departure, isolation from the outside world during the tournament, but in the finals in Malta everything ran normally and the clubs could devote themselves in ideal climatic conditions to tournament matches and especially training and preparation for the second part of the season, which starts unusually in many European countries early.
"The coronavirus pandemic has undermined all plans during the tournament. For example, the Czech Football League has a break of only three weeks. It was the competitive changes in the dates in the Czech Republic, Austria and Slovakia that made the preparation of the tournament very difficult for us. The situation did not suit us at all, not even in terms of difficult travel conditions, many hygiene measures. The Tipsport Malta Cup is thus the only football tournament in Europe that has been organized in the winter. The well-known Atlantic Cup in Portugal, the tournament in Cyprus, was eventually canceled by all the organizers, "confirms the uniqueness of the whole event Helmut Amhof from the organizing agency MFA SportsPlus.
Concentrating in the heat was the right choice
The footballers lived in their bubbles all week. At the hotel, on the buses, at training sessions and they only met on the field during matches. It was different for them than in previous years, when the teams got to tour the capital Valletta, for example. However, the Tipsport Malta Cup went perfectly smoothly without any complications, and the players and coaches agree that the decision to leave with Tipsport for the heat for a week's preparation was the right one.
